01مصادر الصورPhotographs of places · 102 photographs

We have resized, colour-graded and cropped the photographs for the site. Where the file we saved had already been cropped from the original, the entry says “cropped”. Each licence name links to the licence text, and each source link opens the original file on Wikimedia Commons.

The photographers do not endorse Highway New Time or its journeys. Where a photograph carries a ShareAlike licence (CC BY-SA), our adapted version is available under the same licence.

02صور الفنادقHotel photographs

The photographs of hotels on the hotels page and in the journeys are supplied by the hotels and by our ground partner. They are shown to identify each hotel and are not covered by the licences listed above.

Map data

The map of China on this site is drawn from Natural Earth v5.1.2, with some boundary segments from the U.S. Department of State’s Large Scale International Boundaries (LSIB) dataset, v11.4. Both are in the public domain. We have projected and simplified the data for the map. It shows China’s full national territory, with the South China Sea Islands in an inset.

3D depth maps

Each photograph used on the 3D map has a depth map (81 in all), which lets the photograph move slightly in depth as the pointer moves. We generated the depth maps on 5 October 2026 with Depth Anything V2 Small, a model released under the Apache License 2.0. The depth effect is a modification of the photograph. Each depth map is shared under the same licence as its photograph, listed above. How the depth maps were made, with the licence of each.

Software

The 3D map runs on three.js 0.186.1, copyright 2010–2026 three.js authors, used under the MIT licence.
